Interlocking in Aurora

Patios, walkways and retaining walls for Aurora's rolling lots on the moraine, built to drain and built to hold.

Patios, walkways & driveways in Aurora

Aurora sits on the Oak Ridges Moraine, so the backyards roll. In Aurora Highlands and Hills of St. Andrew, a patio often means a terraced patio with a segmental wall between levels and steps down to the lawn. In Bayview Northeast and Bayview Wellington the lots are flatter and newer, and we build large modern patios and front entrances.

Old Aurora's century homes near Yonge Street call for natural stone: flagstone walks, stone steps and low garden walls that suit the house.

Sand drains, sand shifts

Moraine sand drains well, which is good for a patio, but it also migrates if the base isn't compacted and the edges aren't restrained. We over-compact on Aurora sand and use a deeper edge restraint so the patio edge doesn't creep downhill.

Retaining walls in Aurora get the full treatment: compacted footing, drain pipe, clear-stone backfill and geogrid above 3 feet, because a wall on a slope is holding real weight.

Serving Aurora Highlands, Hills of St. Andrew, Bayview Northeast, Bayview Wellington, Aurora Village, Aurora Estates, Aurora Grove and Old Aurora.

Do you do natural stone as well as pavers?

Yes. Flagstone walks and natural stone steps are common on Aurora's older homes.

What does interlocking cost in Aurora?

$25 to $40 per square foot installed. Walls are quoted separately by face area.
