Interlocking in Scarborough

Front walkways, driveway borders and backyard patios for Scarborough's post-war bungalows and split-levels.

Patios, walkways & driveways in Scarborough

Scarborough has thousands of 1950s to 70s bungalows and split-levels with the original concrete walkway, porch and driveway apron, most of them cracked and heaved. Replacing that concrete with a paver walk, landing and driveway border is the single most common project we do east of Victoria Park.

Backyards in Agincourt, Wexford and Bendale are wide and flat, which makes for straightforward patio builds. Along the Bluffs in Guildwood and Cliffcrest, grades drop and we terrace with retaining walls.

Replacing 60-year-old concrete

Old concrete walks weren't built with a base, which is why they heaved. When we remove one we find topsoil under it. We excavate to 6 inches of clean Granular A, compact it, and lay pavers on a screeded bed, so the new walk doesn't repeat the problem.

Driveway borders and aprons are popular in Scarborough because they upgrade the front of the house without the cost of a full paver driveway.

Serving Agincourt, Wexford, Bendale, Guildwood, Cliffcrest, West Hill, Malvern, Rouge, Birch Cliff, Scarborough Village and Highland Creek.
