$25 to $40 per square foot installed in Toronto and the GTA, before HST. Patios sit at the lower end, driveways and walkways with removal at the upper end.

Pavers themselves last 30-plus years. A properly built base lasts as long. Most failures people see are base failures within 3 to 5 years of a cheap install.

Granular A (3/4-inch crushed limestone) compacted in 3-inch lifts: 6 to 8 inches for patios and walkways, 10 to 12 inches for driveways. Geotextile fabric goes under the base on clay soils. A 1-inch screeded bedding layer of coarse sand or HPB sits on top.

April through November, as long as the ground is not frozen. Spring books up first; late summer and fall often have shorter waits and the same quality.

Ground-level patios and walkways usually do not. Retaining walls over 1 m, raised patios and some driveway widenings do. We check your municipality's rules at the estimate.

Joint sand mixed with a binder that hardens when wetted. It locks the pavers, resists weeds and ants, and does not wash out like plain sand. We use it on every job.

Optional. Sealing every 3 to 5 years keeps colour, slows weeds and makes cleaning easier. We offer clean-and-seal as a service.

Yes. We terrace with segmental retaining walls and steps, with proper drainage behind every wall.

No more than concrete. Textured pavers and slabs are actually better grip than smooth concrete. Use salt-free ice melt to protect the surface.

Polymeric sand joints and a proper edge restraint stop most of it. Old sand-set interlock gets weeds because the joints are open soil.
