Patios, walkways & driveways in Richmond Hill
Richmond Hill has some of the best backyards in York Region and some of the trickiest grades. Oak Ridges and Jefferson sit on the moraine, so lots drop several feet front to back. Bayview Hill and Doncrest are flatter but the yards are big, which means large patios, pool surrounds and outdoor kitchens.
One of our favourite projects was a slab pool patio with an armour-stone waterfall wall on Jenkins Drive. That's the kind of work we like in Richmond Hill: large-format pavers, clean lines and walls that are built to hold, not just to look good on day one.

Building on the moraine
The Oak Ridges Moraine is sand and gravel, which drains beautifully but shifts if it isn't compacted. We over-compact on moraine soils and use a deeper edge restraint so patio edges don't creep down the slope. Where the grade drops more than 2 feet across the patio, we terrace with a segmental wall.
In the older neighbourhoods around Mill Pond and the Yonge Street core, the job is usually replacing a cracked concrete walk and porch. A paver walk with a widened landing and a coping-capped porch overlay is a two- to three-day project that transforms the front of a 1960s house.
Serving Oak Ridges, Jefferson, Mill Pond, Bayview Hill, Doncrest, Langstaff, Rouge Woods, Westbrook, North Richvale and South Richvale.
