A well-built interlock patio is the most-used room in your house from May to October. We excavate to the right depth, build a compacted granular base, and lay pavers on a screeded bedding layer so the surface stays flat through Ontario freeze-thaw cycles.
What makes a patio last in Ontario
Most failed patios in the GTA fail from underneath. The pavers are fine; the base was too thin or never compacted. Our standard patio base is 6 to 8 inches of 3/4-inch crushed limestone (Granular A), compacted in lifts with a plate compactor, topped with a 1-inch screeded layer of coarse bedding sand or high-performance bedding (HPB).
Edges are locked with a concrete or PVC edge restraint so the field can't spread, and joints are filled with polymeric sand that hardens against weeds and ants.
Patio styles we build
Random-pattern flagstone-look pavers for a natural feel, large-format slabs (24x24, 24x36) for a clean modern look, or classic 3-piece Unilock and Permacon patterns. We add borders, inlays, seating walls, fire-pit pads and step-downs when the yard calls for it.
Popular manufacturers we install: Unilock, Permacon, Techo-Bloc, Best Way Stone and Oaks.
